Coyote Run Farm provides high-quality AHCA registered Highland calves for sale year-round. Currently, we boast a fully-registered fold and are actively enhancing our breeding program. Periodically, we have a selection of recently birthed, excellent calves available. Additionally, we may offer proven AHCA registered cows and bulls for sale as part of our program adjustments.
Is the Highland the right breed for your farm?
Highlands may not be suitable for everyone or every climate. They struggle in hot and humid environments, requiring ample shade.
You will need a minimum of two cows ias they are herd animals, needing companions of their own species. Other animals won’t suffice; they must be with other cows.
Allocate, at minimum, one acre per cow, requiring a minimum of two acres of pasture for these animals.
Highlands exhibit excellent maternal instincts. Unnecessarily separating their calves to sell as bottle babies is deemed extremely cruel, and I REFUSE to sell them until they can be properly weaned.
Regarding “mini highlands,” it’s important to note that they do not actually exist. Claims circulating on social media about them are false information intended to market stunted runts or crossbred animals as “miniatures.”
